It goes without saying that although I expected even numbers when Steve D dropped out, it was 7 Colours v 6 Whites. A strong looking Colours line up failed to gel, playing a long ball, no control passing game, but nearly snatched a late winner in the 5 – 5 draw. Points to Note:
Richard and Simon D last to arrive (I use the D as who knows Simon G may return when the sun’s out, if invited?) or should it be C for Crouch after his impressive game as target man; Chris C opens the scoring on his return; Jon, Marcus and Tony hold the White line well to restrict opportunities for Carl, Duncan, Richard and Tim Mc; Graham taps a few ankles but yelps when he was tapped on the ankle, big girls blouse! Keith and Neil get 2 goals each supporting Crouchy; Duncan was definitely in goal at some stage, Simon D was not; Steve T in defence resorted to lob tactics to get passed Whites; Carl plays a game of kick Simon D whenever he got the chance;
After Pub Talk: Graham’s impressive last gasp volley nearly a winner was deemed to be ‘in the area’. Were we cramping Simon D’s style with the barmaid? Man of the Match: Almost Simon D with a strong display upfront holding the ball well as Whites defended deep and backed him up, but goes to Keith for a youthful display (or did I dream that?)
It was hard enough remembering the teams (I assume they are right) never mind who scored the goals so I expect some changes to be called for? but not from Graham
